Lets look at what happened on 19th June – one of the my most awaited vacations in this life time – F1 USGP.
Fiasco: 7 out of the 10 teams scheduled to race on 19th Jun 2005 withdrew from the race only after green flag lap, but not before pumping our adrenaline by the indescribable sound of F1 Engines.
Trouble: Ralf crashes out on his practice runs and so does his team mate. Michelin announces that the tyres are unsafe. The banking on turn 13 puts “unforeseen” pressure on the tyres – bursting them after sometime. Michelin advises its team to not run on them.
Proposed “Solutions” by Michelin: Build a Chicane on turn 1 reducing everybody’s speed
What does F1 say: ..|.. go flying!
What did we say?: What the Fuck is going on!?!
My thoughts: FIA was justifies in not allowing a chicane. As Mosley said
Suppose some time in the future we have five teams with engines from major car companies and seven independent teams with engines from a commercial engine builder (as in the past). Imagine the seven independent teams all have an oil surge problem in Turn 13 due to a basic design fault in their engines. They would simply be told to drop their revs or slow down. There would be no question of a chicane.
Anyways we had gone with a group of friends and we enjoyed. Schumacher Won, karthikeyan got some points :)
Sue the bastards at Michelin!
Seems some people have a lot of time on their hands.
I wonder what is the purpose starting such a debate. one person says
Also a good deal of whatever he writes isn’t useful to common public anyway.

Yeah right! get Mickey Mouse off the Wikipedia! or even better – Arnold Schwarzenegger off the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
Finally a long standing dream will come true this weekend. I’m going to F1 USA at Indianapolis. got a paddock ticket. Last minute plans. As you might know I quit my last job with Infy, my next assignment isn’t starting any time soon. So might as well see some burning rubber. Hopefully I have some interesting race to see.
You go Karthikeyan.. (please)!
Will report from Indianapolis!
Ya, I Quit!
I quit Infosys, India’s Second Largest Software Company, 9th on Wired Top 40, World’s most valued IT Firm, India’s Best Managed Company, always in the news for good.
Today when the company is raking accolades from everywhere, why do I feel the company is not paying enough thoughts to the very values and intellect that has given Infosys the reputation of being run by heart. Everyone (as i believe) believes in the leadership, but the middle management is the one screwing the each other over and the company’s core in the process.
My Theory: Infosys started in 1991 with the very conservative values. When they grew to about 5000 around the time when the Y2K gold hit the streets, they collected employees by driving trucks and vans to the colleges and filling them in with graduates. Now after seven/eights years after the bubble, the cream of the employees moved to other opportunities and what is left is the bottom scum. Because of Infosys’s ‘No-Fire’ policy, these jack asses have become the bosses coz they had no one left to promote!
During my tenure, I saw people who insulted the IQ of a meatball get promoted. Not that I’m near likes of Sabir Bhatia, but a beareaucratic crap about seniority gives me a headache.
and moreover what pisses the hell out of me is the hipocracy!! all this crap about “Performance Based Growth” in every goddam meeting!
And in all fairness to the organisation, I had the opportunity to work with one of the best technical people, one of the best motivators during my three year stint.
But, unfortunately, working at the bottom of the corporate chain of morons is not my cup of tea.
Is anyone hiring?
UPDATE: Recently the number of comments on this post have increased dramatically – you dont see them on the post because i moderate them. This was a personal post about my reasons for leaving the company. I still respect the people (most of them :)) i worked with but the comments on the post are getting to be really ugly. some of them are silly but some of them are downright nasty and personal attacks on people. I am closing the comments on the post since i do not agree with a lot of comments being made. There are few rotten apples.. but the comments make it seem like its a dirt camp.. not true people.. not true.
Carrie Underwood won the American Idol yesterday. Ya she’s “nice” :)
on the other side of the world, a different kind of cult is cooking their own conspiracy theory. Is it so hard to believe that the result might be more sex driven then any scandal theory.
a guy, with long hair, beard – sings well
a girl, blond hair, generous coat of lip gloss, twinkling eyes – sings well
who will you vote for! :)
It wasn’t as much a surprise to know that biggies are cracking down on the illegal sharing of files, what’s surprising is no one is even noticing it. rather, everyone’s ignoring it.
Bittorrent has launched a search engine for “Legal Torrents”.
yeah right!
so much for legality!
I had worked long back on an internal newsletter called Technopolitan when i was working in India, I used to be a regular visitor of Lockergenome. It always used to get me gr8 information on new stuf..
Today I’m disappointed.
I came across this article – more of an advertisement – which advocates a software which clearly is a spamware. it asks you to register and will let you run the software only after you receive two emails from them! ya you heard me right. not one but two. and that apart from weekly debris!
tch tch! bad Mitch bad!
After the Homesite win, Nick Bradsbury has got he deserves once more. Newsgator has acquired FeedDemon and Topstyle.
Not just that, with that move, Newsgator has also brought Nick onboard onto their team. Thats what you get for creating what we want ;)
Contrary to the furor that the news has created among some blogcircles i’m happy about the whole thing. more so for nick. And frankly i have used both newsgator and FeedDemon, the online subscription would only help the people who use it! it help me!
So Congrats Nick! Party time!
