Google Desktop, Memory Hogger, somewhat intrusive , yes totally agree. Definitely filled a void in the Windows world when it did come out.

Having said that, on the Mac side, you should also check out QuickSilver(of course if you have not checked it out already). App Launcher and shortcut nirvana for so many things!
